Garden Update: April 11

Two weeks after I planted it, here’s what my garden now looks like:

Herbs (and no-show so far peppers):

Tomatoes and tomatillos:

Chives:

Shamrocks:

Violas and daisies:

Marigolds:

My basil that I started this summer started getting droopy, so I tied it to a pencil.  It’s even a pencil to promote recycling–pretty fitting.

  1. Alex says:

You should pinch the tops of the basil stems and flowers off. I don’t know if you’ve been doing this already, but it should help make the plant fuller and less spindly, and pinching the flowers off puts all the energy into making leaves, which I’m assuming is what you want.
